If you're looking for a decent laptop for work, college, or just everyday browsing, you're in luck. The official HP Store has just launched its massive Labor Day sale, featuring some of the best prices I've seen this year on the brand's line-up of excellent laptops.

As TechRadar's deals editor, I've scanned through today's sale to find the best offers. In short, there's plenty to consider, and I've rounded up my six favorite laptops below – including everything from super-cheap everyday machines to high-end workhorses.

Processor: AMD Ryzen 5-7535HS
RAM: 8GB
Storage: 256GB

If you're on a strict budget, then I'd happily recommend this HP Laptop 15z in the brand's Labor Day sale. It's a very basic model, but you do get a decent chipset in this configuration, which should suffice for not just the basics, but plenty of more demanding applications, too. There are a few cheaper options at HP today, but they tend to have less storage or much weaker chipsets. At $399, I think this is a very fair deal for what you get.

Processor: Intel Core 5-120U
RAM: 16GB
Storage: 512GB

A budget of $500 is enough to get a decent mid-range laptop in the HP Labor Day sales. Take this 14-inch model, for example, which not only comes with a more recent Intel Core 5 chipset, but also 16GB of RAM and a relatively spacious 512GB storage drive. At 14 inches, this one is also a great choice if you need something portable and lightweight, yet still with enough power to handle everyday tasks smoothly.

Processor: Snapdragon X
RAM: 16GB
Storage: 512GB

This OmniBook 5 is a great wildcard choice as it features a Snapdragon X chipset. These processors don't tend to be quite as popular as Intel or AMD due to weaker software support, but they are a fantastic choice for the vast majority of users. You get great bang for the buck here, especially when it comes to battery life, which is a real standout feature of laptops with Snapdragon chipsets.

Processor: Intel Core Ultra 7-155U
RAM: 16GB
Storage: 512GB

Moving up in the price brackets, I've got my eye on this heavily reduced HP Pavilion. At $699, the price is right here considering you're getting a combination of an Ultra 7 chipset and 16GB of RAM. These Pavilion laptops are very much the 'sensible' choice, and therefore a great choice if you need a reliable machine with a decent amount of power for work or productivity tasks.
HP OmniBook 7

Processor: AMD Ryzen AI 7 350
RAM: 32GB
Storage: 1TB

For a high-end choice, you'll struggle to beat this OmniBook 7. Under the hood, the combination of a Ryzen 7 chipset and 32GB of RAM is unbeatable right now in the wider HP Labor Day sales. That's an impressive line-up of specs, and perfect if you need something powerful for demanding productivity tasks. With a 1TB SSD, you're also getting plenty of space on the drive here. All in all, a good option if you're willing to spend a little more.

Processor: Intel Core Ultra 7 256V
RAM: 16GB
Storage: 1TB

The Omnibook X Flip is a great all-around high-end choice, as it can be used as both a laptop and a tablet via its foldable keyboard. It also comes equipped with a stunning 3K OLED touch-screen that should provide excellent display quality. Thankfully, HP hasn't skimped on the specs with this machine either, since it features a decent Ultra 7 chipset and 16GB of RAM.
